Trawnish is a small compact cedar-wood fishing lodge set in beautiful unspoilt countryside overlooking the silvery waters of Upper Lough MacNean. It is ideal for fishermen, walkers, golfers, cyclists, painters and writers. The veranda with its canvas roof, chairs and table, overlooks the peaceful view and the path down to the lakeside beach. Explore the underground world of the Marble Arch caves or take a water tour round Lough Erne.
The area is probably most famous for its game and coarse fishing. Six miles down the road is Lough Melvin, well known for salmon and also for its three distinct species of brown trout, the Sonaghan, Gillaroo and Ferox.
Tucked away discretly in a small bay on Lough MacNean is a Water Park and Activity Centre for the active and adventurous.
Just across the river from Belcoo is Blacklion with the renowned “MacNean Bistro” – home base to Nevan Maguire, TV chef. Ballyshannon in Donegal and Enniskillen in Fermanagh are the nearest large towns.
